Elijah Music is an unusual thing. You can’t taste it, you can’t smell it, you can’t touch it, but it’s there all the time. Music from Bach is 500 years old and is still being listened to today. As a spiritual entity and energy, music has a tremendous power to reach beyond the realm of the physical life where most everyone is focused. Most people are thinking about having enough money, but music will give you much more satisfaction than money can. Music can remind you what is meaningful about life. The power of music is integral to the Effiji breathwork experience. It is why I started composing music for the breathwork. I want the music to help you get in touch with the most powerful energies of who you really are. Your REAL self that is beyond that linear, practical part that is constantly trying to manage the moment. — The reason why I left the music business is that I wasn’t that motivated to become a star and have the attention on me. I didn’t want to be an entertainer. I used to play in a piano bar in my twenties, I ended up getting fired because I would have relationships with people at the bar. I would send them home when they were drinking too much, and the owners didn’t like that. They didn’t care about people’s mental health, they just wanted to sell beer. I always had my mind on the transformational power of music. When I found breathwork, I started to use the music that I loved. Later, when I realized I wanted something that people had no association with, I started creating my own music. This one track in 2013 was pivotal for me. It’s called Doing the Work. It’s not particularly interesting or memorable, but I’ve played it hundreds of times because it seems to stabilize people in the practice and drive them forward into a transformation. When you come to a class, the music is there to deepen your experience. It goes beyond other techniques that are just using music in a sort of peripheral way. Music is central to Effiji Breathwork. The Hindi phrase Nadabrahma means “sound is God”. Music can help you to experience the divine in you. Elijah |
